Hey 👋🏽 welcome to the neighborhood :)
The foundations of Chai Street were poured years ago, sprouting merely as a collection of ideas being added to a mood board while sipping on a warm cuppa of chai. After some experimentation and a lot of input from her family and close friends, Faryal Ahmed brewed the perfect cup of masala chai. One that felt like a hug in a mug.
So much so that friends would visit her place and take a seat on what became known as the therapy couch with a cuppa chai in hand. With just a few sips friends became family. They found comfort in being vulnerable.
With all the heart and love poured into every cup, Faryal helped chai drinkers feel a sense of belonging, creating a safe space where her chai would relieve tensions and let all worries fade as they sipped away.
She quickly grew to become the chaiwali in her community, being invited by aunties and hosts to take on chai duties at their gatherings. Then came the thought, “What if I hosted my own sort of chai and vibes shindig?”
Neighbors and strangers from around the nation all joined under one roof, dancing, chatting, vibing, chai-ing, but most importantly building community.
Friendships were forged, bonds were strengthened, and unforgettable memories were created all from Faryal’s love of fostering community, through chai.
For Pakistanis, chai is life.
So why not enjoy a great life as our neighbor on Chai Street?
